Answer:

When a linear association is shown by a scatter plot, we can use a line to model the relationship between the variables. A trend line is a straight line that comes closest to the points on a scatter plot. We can use the trend line to make predictions.

Answer:

A trend line can be used to make predictions because it shows the direction of interest. If the trend was how many people used yt in 2020, the trend line would be positive and it shows that more people are interested in yt. This would make the people who work at yt want to make it better, and people at other companies want to try and do something like yt, or something better.
