Given equation is,

y=-0.5x-2

when x=-2 , y=-0.5(-2)-2=1-2=-1

when x=0 , y=-0.5(0)-2=0-2=-2

when x=2 , y=-0.5(2)-2=-1-2=-3

So, we get the points (-2,-1) , (0,-2) , (2,-3)

Now, using the points on the graph and adding them, we will get the graph of given line.

Now for the second part- we have to find values of x , for which y is positive.

That means, y will be above the x-axis.

From the graph we can see that- when x<-4,

then the graph is above the x-axis.

So, for all values of x, which are less than -4,

we will get the positive graph.
