6x−4+2x=7x−4

Simplify both sides of the equation.

6x−4+2x=7x−4

6x+−4+2x=7x+−4

(6x+2x)+(−4)=7x−4(Combine Like Terms)

8x+−4=7x−4

8x−4=7x−4

Subtract 7x from both sides.

8x−4−7x=7x−4−7x

x−4=−4

Add 4 to both sides.

x−4+4=−4+4

x=0
