The two matrices show the cost of three different electronics prices (rows) at two different stores (columns). Matrix F is from 1995 and Matrix H is from 2005. Which matrix shows the change in prices from 1995 to 2005?

Answer:

The matrix A) shows the change in prices from 1995 to 2005.

Explanation:

From the given matrices it can be seen that prices have decreased.

The change is negative Δp < 0 Δp= pH - pF

Given matrices are the same type ( 3x2 ) = (number of rows x number of columns ) so they can be subtracted.

Matrices are subtracted by subtracking their corresponding elements, i.e. elements in the same positions.

When we subtracted matrix F from matrix H we get matrix A).

Good luck!!!

A. The costs from 1995 to 2005 all lower, so the changes are negative
