There were various factors which made the Lincoln to issue Emancipation Proclamation. The Factors include :

1. Lincoln hoped that the Proclamation would change the American Civil War from a political conflict to a moral conflict about slavery.

2. If the war focused on slavery he thought that Europe would not help the confederates.

3. There was a also moral pressure from abolitionists who urge Lincoln to abolish slavery.

4. He thought Emancipation Proclamation, a way to cripple the Confederacy's work force. Slavery was abolished in rebelling states as a way to help the Union.
