Answer: See explanation

Explanation:

4x + 20x - 8 = -2 (-12x + 8)

Step 1

Distribute -2 to (-12x + 8)

4x + 20x - 8 = 24x - 16

Step 2

Combine 4x and 20x together

24x - 8 = 24x - 16

Step 3

Add 8 to both sides

24x = 24x - 8

Step 4

Subtract 24x from both sides

0 ≠ -8

That is incorrect so it's not a solution

Hope I helped!

Follow pemdas: start with distributing the -2 unto the (-12x+8) which will equal 24 -16 which is 8. Then add the 8 from the other side which is 16. Add like terms on the other side which is 24x. Then divide by 24. You get 2/3 when simplified. Hope this helps:)
