First combine like terms 8+-22 which will be 14 so the equation now is 2x-14=-2. Then get all the constants on one side. So add 14-2 which will be 12 now the equation will be 2x=12 now divide 2 on each side and x=6.

Answer:

x=6

Explanation:

First you have to subtract 8 from 22 and you get -14. Then you rewrite the equation, 2x-14=-2.

Since your subtracting 14 you would add 14 to both sides, so -14+14 and -2+14. -2+14 will turn out to be 12 and then you divide 2 from both sides, so 2x-2 and 12-2.

Your answer will be x=6
