What is the answer for 5x+2=2x-10

5x+2=2x-10

The lesser number with "x" is 2x.

Subtract 2x from both the "x"'s:

3x+2=-10

Take 2 away from both sides:

3x=-12

Divide both sides by 3:

x=-4
