Question:

how do you change a improper fraction to a mixed number.

Answer:

You can easily just divide the denominator (the down number of the fraction) with the numerator (the top number)

Example:

5/2

Divide 2 into 5 Which will give you the answer of 2 and 1/2

if you had 17 over 4 that would be 17/4

how many times can 4 go into 17?

how ever many timer it goes in will be your whole number.

in this case its 4

there is 1 left over so it would be the numerator

17/4 would equal 4 1/4
