Answer-

The absolute value of the difference of the two numbers was found to be 7.

Solution-

The given two numbers are, 2 and -5.

Between these two number,

larger number = 2

smaller number = -5

(∵ As 2 is right of -5 on the number line)



\left |larger\ number-smaller\ number \right|


=\left |2-(-5)\right |


=\left |2+5 \right|= 7



\left | smaller\ number -larger\ number \right|


=\left |(-5)-2 \right|


=\left |-5-2 \right|=\left |-7 \right|=7


Therefore, it can be proved the order doesn't matter if we take the difference in absolute value.
