Answer:

3 x − y + 5

Explanation:

4x - 3y + 10 - x + 2y - 5

add/ subtract all the x values

4x - x = 3x

add/ subtract all y values

-3y + 2y = 1y or y

Answer:

3x - y + 5

Explanation:

4x - 3y + 10 - x + 2y - 5

To simplify, you need to combine like terms. Like terms are terms that have the same variable part. All terms with x are like terms and can be combined. All terms with y are like terms and can be combined. All terms with no variable are like terms and can be combined. A term with x and a term with y are not like terms and cannot be combined.

It may be helpful at first, to move the like terms together to combine them.

4x - 3y + 10 - x + 2y - 5 =

= 4x - x - 3y + 2y + 10 - 5

= 3x - y + 5
