Because we have (in Sweden) free health care for children under 18 when ur over 18 u will only pay til you have paid to a specific amount then you have discount and then its free (every year it will go back to cero)
School is free lunch in schools are free we don’t pay for anything not even textbooks.
Medication for people under 18 is free. People with low income pay little or no tax rich people pay higher taxes. Its all about balance. We don’t like to be like the US but still we have a lot of segregation. I hope my answer somehow helps
