1 + 11 / 1 + 3

12 / 4

3 is the slope

on a graph, the points (-3, -11) and (1, 1) have a ride/run of 12/4. (You can also find this through point slope form instead of a graph). This means that the slope of the line is 3. In slope intercept form, the equation of the line is y = 3x - 2. :)
