The Kingdom of Kush (Kuš or Cush) forms an important part of the history of Nubia at the time of the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Rome and Greece.
The investigations on Nubia were carried out in three stages. In the first half of the nineteenth century some Europeans visited Sudan, reported the ruins and brought some finds to Europe.
