What is the difference in an ionic bond and a covalent bond?

the answer is that they somwtimes dont have atoms and sometimes it can have a negative and positve volume

Covalent bonding is a form of chemical bonding between two non metallic atoms, and Ionic bonds form when one atom gives up one or more electrons to another atom. hope this helps :)
