`(1)/(2)` units long and you place 0f them end to end

Then all the five dime will be

`5*(1)/(2) =2.5` units long

Or you could add all 5 to get

`(1)/(2)+ (1)/(2)+(1)/(2)+(1)/(2)+(1)/(2)=(5)/(2)=2.5` units
