It’s a form of deductive reasoning where you arrive at a conclusion by examine two other premises, typically a major and a minor.

You can put it like this: All X is Z, all Y is X, so therefore all Y is Z.

Ex.
All birds are animals and all parrots are birds. Therefore, all parrots are animals.

A carrots is a vegetable. All vegetables are good. Therefore, all carrots are good.

It can also be used as a word to describe a sophisticated argument or deductive reasoning.

It's gaining a conclusion from other ideas.

Ex. - all roses are flowers,

- I am holding a rose,

- therefore, I am holding a flower
