The theater sells two types of tickets: adult

tickets for $15 and child tickets for $13.
Last night, the theater sold a total of 340
tickets for a total of $4712. How many adult
tickets did the theater sell last night?

Rewriting the question into equations, we get

15x + 13y = 4712

x + y = 340
