*Sorry I messed up my math please read the new answer.
Use distrubitive property to get rid of parentheses. Multiply -3 by 4r and -8 to get -12r+24=36. Then zero out 24 by subtarcting 24 from both sides. You. should then have -12r=12. Divide by -12 on both sides to get r by itself. Your answer should be r=1*. Hope this helps :)

Hey there!

Firstly, we have to
distribute

-3(4r)
+(-3)
(-8)
= -36

-3(4r)
= -12r

(-3)(-8)
= 24

-12r
+ 24
= -36

Secondly, we have to
subtract by
24 on each of your sides

-12r
+24
-24
= -36
-24

Cancel :
24 - 24 because it'll give you the result of
0

Keep:
-36
- 24 because it will help us solve for the value of
r

-36
- 24
= -60

-12r
=
-60

Thirdly we have to
divide by
-12 on each of your sides

(-12r)/(12)
=
(-60)/(-12)

Cancel:
(-12r)/(-12) because it gives you the answer of
1

Keep:
(-60)/(-12) because it gives you the answer of
r which is
5

So, therefore the answer of this question
r = 5

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
