When did slavery truly end? ( Abraham Lincon made it illegal but people still did it so when did it truly end? )

Slavery did not truly end in 1865, many slave masters in the south didn’t care what Abraham Lincoln said. In fact, there were still slaves in certain areas in the south in the 1900s despite it being illegal.

On December 18, 1865, the 13th Amendment was adopted as part of the United States Constitution. The amendment officially abolished slavery, and immediately freed more than 100,000 enslaved people, from Kentucky to Delaware.
