1) Beginning of the agriculture revolution: began in Britain in the 18th century (1701) and was completed until the 19th century. The tradictional agricultural system transformed in a gradual way making technical improvements and making farms more efficient.

2) Urbanization and industrial revolution: also began in the 18th century but it was stronger in the middle of it. The economy transformed from an agrarian and handicraft one to a one based in industry and machine facturing. It was possible due to the labor force available, thid thanks to the agricultural revolution.

3) World population reaches the one-billion mark: in 1804

4) Loss of millions of lives in a flu pandemic: Also known as the Spanish flu in 1918, it infected 5000 million people around the world. It killed from 50 to 100 million.

5) Dramatic growth in population in developing countries: After the World War 2, developing countries reduced their mortality rates. In 1960 many developing countries had rates of increase as high as 3 percent a year, exceeding by two- or threefold the highest rates ever experienced by European population.
