. The county fair charges $2.50 per ticket for the rides. Henry bought 15 tickets for the rides and spent a total of $55.50 at the fair. Henry spent his money only on ride tickets and fair admission. The price of the fair admission is the same for everyone. Use x to represent the number of ride tickets and y to represent the total cost.

First to find the answer setup an equation and take some mental notes.

He bought 15 tickets

Each one costed $2.50

The total cost was $55.50

Now make an equation with what you know.

I'm using a to represent admission cost.

(2.50 x 15) + a=55.50

Now get rid of alike terms

37.5+a=55.50

Now subtract 37.5 from both sides

a=18

So the total cost of the admission is $18
