In order to divide a fraction, we have to change it to multiplication (no need to make common denominator). So what we do is "reciprocal" the fraction after the division sign, which means we flip the fraction

- (1)/(2)
to

- ( 2)/(1) = - 2
and then you simply multiply the 2 fractions together :)

5/6÷(-1/2)

To divide by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal

5/6(-2)

Simplify

5/6×-2/1

5(-2)/6

-10/6

Reduce the expression by cancelling the common factors

2×-5/2×3

Cx common factor 2 to get

-5/3
