The formula for probability is
(number of ideal outcomes)/(number of possible outcomes). Because there are 8 $20 bills, there are 8 ideal outcomes and 20 possible outcomes. THis gives us
(8)/(20) which can be simplified to
(2)/(5).

The answer is 2/5 or 0.4 or 40%.

Answer:

2/5

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 5+7+8 = 20 total bills.

Out of these, 8 are twenty-dollar bills.

The probability of choosing 1 twenty-dollar bill is then 8/20, which simplifies to 2/5.
