Democratic journalism is a new phenomenon, where with the help of the internet and social media, popular vote wins over editors. This creates independent space between the rulers and the ruled. In developing democracies, professional journalism is manipulated by government and that makes a deviation from democratic concepts like ethnic and political pluralis. The national leaders believe that the civil liberties will threaten their legitimacy. The criticisms is discouraged violating the fundamental right of "freedom of expression".
Information should be independent and objective, not serving anyone or any system. Developing countries are looking upto the western model of democracy and while doing that, they have to face the transitional period that they are in. In this gap, space for media manipulation is created.
