48/12 - 7/12 = 41/12

Firstly find the common denominator (12) so for 2 to turn into 12 it needs to be multiplied by 6. Because of this, 8 also needs to be multiplied by the same amount so the first fraction would be 48/12.

The second fraction doesn't need to be changed so...


48/12 - 7/12 = 41/12.
