There were three colonial regions: New England, Middle colonies and Southern colonies.

The SOUTHERN COLONIAL REGION had many rivers and good harbors. They also had a mild climate. The humid climate made them ideal for agriculture. The small farms and large plantations had many slaves and they produced many crops. Among the crops were rice, corn, tobacco, cotton and indigo.
