The fromula of a slope:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

a) (-1, -8), (-7, -4)

substitute

m=(-4-(-8))/(-7-(-1))=(-4+8)/(-7+1)=(4)/(-6)=-(2)/(3)

b) (2.1, 3.8), (3.1, 7.6)

substitute

m=(7.6-3.8)/(3.1-2.1)=(3.8)/(1)=3.8
