y = 0.25x + 2

Assuming you require the equation of the line with slope = 0.25 and passing through the point (12, 5 )

the equation of a line in ' slope- intercept form ' is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

the partial equation is y = 0.25 + c

to find c, substitute (12, 5 ) into the partial equation

5 = 3 + c ⇒ c = 5 - 3 = 2

y = 0.25x + 2 is the equation in point- slope form
