Answer: The new pressure of the gas is (A) 854.46 kPa.

The pressure of a given mass of gas at the absolute temperature 110 degrees K is 400 kPa.

The temperature is raised to 235 degrees K with constant volume.

Therefore,

Initial pressure
P_(1)=400kPa

Initial temperature
T_(1)=110K

Final temperature
T_(2)=235K

Final pressure
P_(2)=?

According to pressure law of gas,


(P_(1) )/(T_(1) )=(P_(2) )/(T_(2) ) ( at constant volume)
P_(2)=(P_(1)T_(2) )/(T_(1) )


P_(2)=(400X235)/(110)
