Solution :

Given ,line that passes through the pair of points (1,7) and (10,1)

The slope of the line passing through the points
(x_(1),y_(1) ) \:and \:(x_(2),y_(2)) is given by,

m=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

Here,
(x_(1),y_(1) ) =(1,7)\:and \:(x_(2),y_(2))=(10,1).

\Rightarrow m=(1-7)/(10-1) \\\Rightarrow m=(-6)/(9)=(-2)/(3)

Hence , slope of the line passing through the pir of points (1,7) and (10,1) is
(-2)/(3) ( first option)
