let's assume that the guests are x
and she received
57-12 gifts from the guests
57 - 12 = 45
she received 3 × x gifts from the guests
3x = 45
x = 45/3
x = 15
Therefore Sunnie had 15 guests at her party

15 guests because 57 minus 12 is 45 then you divde 45 by three to get 15
