F(n + 1) = f(n) + 3 . The first term of the sequence is –4. What is the next term in the sequence?

Solution

f(n +1) = f(n) + 3

Here common difference (d) = 3. This is an arithmetic sequence.

First term f1 = -4

2nd term = f1 + 3

= -4 + 3

2nd term = -1

The 2nd term = -1
