a. m<5=40° (Given)

b. m<2=140° (Given)

c. <5 and <2 are supplementary angles

Because they add 180°: <5+<2=40°+140°=180°

d. <5 and <2 are same-side interior angles

You can see it in the graph

e. a // b

Because they are same-side interior angles and they are supplementary angles, the lines a and b must me parallels.
