Definition: uses literary devices
Allusion: vents or characters from another story in her own story with the hopes that those events will add context or depth.
Personification: attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman.
Onomatopoeia: rhetorical effect.
Diction: style of speaking or writing
Simile: compares two things using 'like' or 'as'
Metaphor: compares two things without using 'like' or 'as'
Epigraph: epigraph is a phrase, quotation, or poem that is set at the beginning.
Euphemism: polite, indirect expressions that replace words and phrases considered harsh and impolite.
Foreshadowing: literary device in which a writer gives an advance hint of what is to come later.
Imagery: Usually you can almost picture it is so detailed you feel like you can actually see it happening.
