Distribute 2/3 to all terms within the parenthesis. Simplify

(2/3)(-9m) = ((2)(-9m))/(3) = -18m/3

(2/3)(12) = (24)/(3) = 8

-18m/3 + 8

Simplify. Divide.

-18m/3 = -6m

-6m + 8 is your answer

hope this helps
