5x+14=k

To solve for x, you need to isolate the x variable. To do this, first subtract 14 from both sides.

5x=k-14

Now, divide both sides by 5.

x=k/5-14/5 (
x=(k)/(5)-(14)/(5))

(k)/(5) can also be written as
(1)/(5)k

I hope this helps :)

x =
(k - 14)/(5)

isolate 5x by subtracting 14 from both sides

5x = k - 14 ( divide both sides by 5 )

x =
(k - 14)/(5)
