Can somebody explain a unit rate to me? I am struggling in math.

The unit rate is a comparison of two different quantities when they are combined.

Unit rates actually are utilized by people frequently in every day life. A standard work week undertaken by a typical person is 40 hours per week. Unit prices are useful at grocery stores. For example, if five potatoes cost $5, the unit price is determined by dividing the total price by the number of individual potatoes, or $5 divided by 5.
