What should you do to prevent cross-contamination when using cutting boards?

Wash hands with soap and warm water before handing food. Also wash the cutting board before and after using it to prevent the spreading of bacteria around the kitchen.

wash the board at all times and do not use the same cutting board nor knife after you cut different items
