3x - 5y = 6

-3x -3x

-5y = -3x + 6

(-5y)/(-5) = (-3x)/(-5) + (6)/(-5)

y = (3)/(5)x - (6)/(5) ⇒ m =
(3)/(5)

perpendicular slope (m⊥) =
-(5)/(3)

Point-Slope equation:

m =
-(5)/(3) (x₁ , y₁)= (-8, 0)

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 0 =
-(5)/(3)(x - (-8))

y =
-(5)/(3)(x + 8)

y =
-(5)/(3)x - (40)/(3)
