4/|p|+12=14.

Can you solve with the absolute value of p as a denominator?

Here we go,

(4)/( |p| ) + 12 = 14

Subtract 12 from both sides,

(4)/( |p| ) + 12 - 12 = 14 - 12 \\ (4)/( |p| ) = 2

Multiply both sides with |p|

(4)/( |p| ) * |p| = 2 * |p | \\ 4 = 2 * |p| \\
divide both sides with 2

(4)/(2) = ((2 * |p| ))/(2) \\ 2 = |p|

Therefore,

|p| equals 2.
