RELIEF
With Intaglio, a burin is held in hand is used to cut into the lines to be printed into a metal plate. It is easily associated with wood engraving. However, it actually utilize relief process of printing. Knives or gouges are used to cut out a design drawn out on a piece of wood. The resulting surface of the wood is then inked and stamped onto paper, canvass, fabric etc
