pleeeeese answer!!!! in what ways was slavery the most important "fact of life" in the south during the early and mid 1800s?

If you owned a farm, you most likely had a large one, and if it was a large one, it was worked mostly by slaves. That said most people in the south were familiar with slaves.leading to whites, and essentially anyone who wasn't black or dark skinned having contact with slaves, or people of color.
