First remove the parenthesis by multiplying minus inside the parenthesis.


3x^2+8x+7-4x^2+2x

Now we combine like terms. the terms with same variables and same exponents are like terms.


3x^2-4x^2= -1x^2


8x +2x= 10x


3x^2+8x+7-(4x^2-2x)=-x^2+10x+7
