Here is the equation:

(3)/(10) = (30)/(100) \rightarrow (4)/(10)  =(x)/(100)

To find the missing number, you have to cross multiply. Here's the equation:

(4)/(10) = (x)/(100) \\ \\ 100 * 4 = 10x

Multiply:

100 * 4 = 400 \\ 400 = 10x

To leave the variable x alone, you need to divide both sides by 10

(400)/(10) = (10x)/(10)

Divide:

400 / 10 = 40 \\ x = 40

Your answer is 40
