x = -
(1)/(2) or x =
(7)/(3)

to solve for x equate the product of factors to zero

(4x + 2)(3x - 7) = 0

equate each factor to zero and solve for x

4x + 2 = 0 , hence 4x = - 2 , hence x = -
(1)/(2)

3x - 7 = 0, hence 3x = 7, hence x =
(7)/(3)
