The following formula relates three quantities: Force (F), mass (m), and acceleration (a).

F = ma
(a) Solve this equation for a.
(b) let the force be F = -25 units and the mass be m = 10 units. What is the acceleration, a?
(c) let the force be F = 25 units and the acceleration be a = 5 units. What is the mass, m?

Answer:

a=(F)/(m)

a= 2.5 units

m= 5 units

Explanation:

Force (F), mass (m), and acceleration (a).

F = ma

(a) solve for 'a'. we need to get 'a' alone

F = ma

Divide both sides by m

(F)/(m) =a

a=(F)/(m)

(b) let the force be F = -25 units and the mass be m = 10 units.

We replace the value in the equation we got in part 'a'

a=(F)/(m)

a=(-25)/(10)=-2.5

Acceleration a=-2.5

(c) let the force be F = 25 units and the acceleration be a = 5 units

F = ma

25 = m5

Divide both sides by 5

m= 5 units
