Yes Jim is correct.
For example if you subtract 1 from 10 the answer is 9, which is less than 10.
Or if you subtract 10 from 10. The answer is 0. Which, again, is less than 10

Yes. Example let’s say 2 is the number. If we subtract 2 from ten we get 8 which is less than 10. Even if the number number is greater than ten it would result in a number which less than ten because it would result in a negative number.
