There were 676 tickets purchased for a major baseball game. The general admission tickets cost $6.50 and the upper reserved tickets cost $8.00. The total amount of money spent was $4902.50.how many of each kind of ticket were purchased?

You have to solve this as system

Let x be a general admission ticket
Let y be an upper reserved ticket

{x+y=676 Multiply by (-6.5)
{6.5x+8y=4902.5

{-6.5x-6.5y=-4394
{6.5x+8y= 4902.5

-6.5y+8y=507.5

1.5y/1.5=507.5/1.5
y=338.33

Substitute x in y

x+338.33=676
x=676-338.33
x= 337.667

So the general admission tickets= 337.677
And the upper reserved tickets= 338.33
