degree 5

(f × g )(x) = 3x²(4x³ + 1 ) = 12
x^(5) + 3x²

the degree of a polynomial is the value of the highest exponent, given the polynomial in standard form.

the highest exponent is 5 ⇒ degree 5 polynomial
